An appraisal of medical care delivery system around a university hospital -In medicaid patients

Abstract
|
|
|
An investigation was carried out in order to evaluate the problems of medical care delivery system around 90 medic aid patients transferred to Chonnam University Hospital (tertiary medical facility) from primary or secondary medical facility in Chonnam, 1979.
Results obtained were as follows;
1. Patient group who visited to tertiary medical facility was 70%. and non-visited group was 30%.
2. Sex distribution of patients was 60% in male and 40 % in female. In visited group, sex distribution was 72.2% in male and 66-.7% in female.
3. Mean age of total patients was 39.4 year, and non-visited group (44.9 year) was older than visited group (34.7 year). Especially in female of non-visited group, mean age as 52.5 year was the highest.
4. According to the international classification of diseases, neoplasm and disease of the digestive system showed lowest utilization rates as 60% respectively.
5. In distance distribution, patients lived within 50km from Kwangju showed the highest utilization as 81.3%.
